Unrefined and Organic oil, exctracted from the the whole nuts of the Polynesian Tamanu tree. Its benefits are notable for dry skin, anti-age therapy, treatment for scarring (in that case it’s better mixed with rosehip oil).

Tamanu Tree and Oil

The tamanu tree (Calophyllum inophyllum) is indigenous to the tropical islands of Vanuatu (formerly the New Hebrides). The tree itself flowers bi-annually with fragrant, white blooms that produce clusters of round fruit that look like large nuts. Inside each of these fruits is an actual nut kernel and it is from these kernels that tamanu oil is extracted.

Tamanu oil can be used as a stand-alone product, whether it be solely as a product for oily acne skin or for the prevention or reduction of scarring or just for beautiful, blemish-free skin. Not only can you use tamanu oil for skin rejuvenation but you can even use it for hair as well. Tamanu oil will store well under almost any conditions but extreme heat will shorten the shelf life. It has a tendency to naturally separate or partly solidify at cold temperatures.

Use:

Apply to face and body – on its own or mixed with other oils/butters. Tamanu oil may naturally separate or solidify at cold temperatures. It may be liquefied in a pot of warm water.
